Position Available: Camp K Counselor or Activity Specialist
Salary Range: $2,800 - $3,300 + Room and Board
  • Counselors & Specialist live on camp premises, providing supervision and guidance to an assigned cabin group of campers, both through the day and night, supporting youth to be their best selves all while having fun in the outdoors.
  • Counselors participate with campers throughout the day in activities of swimming, boating, hiking, target sports, outdoor living skills, rock wall climbing, outdoor games, cabin time and meals.
  • Activity Specialists oversee and facilitate a specialized activity during daily block times. Responsibility includes planning and instructing the specialized activity. Specialist fulfill the counselor role when outside of the activity block times.
  • Types of Activity Specialists: Nature/OLS Specialist, Field Trips Specialist, Target Sports Specialist, Teen Leadership Specialist, Waterfront Specialist and Lifeguard Counselor.

Position Available: Rural Program Travel Camp Lead Staff
Salary Range: 5,400 + Room and Board
  • Travel Camp Leader Staff are experienced professionals capable of creating and implementing youth and community-based programs, forming community relationships, and facilitating activities without supervision or direct support.
  • Travel Camp Lead Staff travel to small, remote communities across Alaska from the Aleutians to the Arctic Circle, offering youth the chance to experience our dynamic summer day camp program in their local community.
  • Staff teams travel throughout June and July, delivering programs for two to four weeks in one community and then travel to the next.
  • Programming consists of swimming and cold water safety, health and wellness activities, cooking, hiking, and outdoor recreation, creative arts, games and sports, and team building opportunities.

  • The Kitchen Manager duties include but are not limited to: menu planning, food preparation, kitchen inventory, food/supply ordering, kitchen sanitation and supervising kitchen staff.

  • The Summer Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership and supervision of Camp K Residential Summer Program, including all day-to-day programming, staff management, training plan, youth supervision and health/safety of all at camp.

  • The Summer Program Director manages camp effectively by utilizing best practices for risk management and quality programming while maintaining facilities, supplies and equipment.
  • The position requires a minimum of one year experience in program administration, current Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED & First Aid Certification and be 21 years of age or older.

  • Instructors lead activities that include backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, caving, canoeing, sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, ice climbing, ziplining, cooking, orienteering
  • The six-person instructor team works closely together to coordinate all aspects of the trip, including instruction in all outdoor activities, risk management, managing group dynamics, menu planning, purchasing food, laundry, transportation, coordinating with outfitters, maintaining equipment and handling medical issues.
