For over 45 years SOAR has offered high adventure summer camps designed specifically for youth, young adults (and families) between the ages of 8 and 25 with ADHD and/or other Learning Differences such as autism level 1, dyslexia, anxiety, or dysgraphia. Created in ...read more1977 by an adult with learning disabilities, SOAR provides fun, challenge-by-choice outdoor adventure experiences so that participants may gain greater awareness of their own strengths and improve self-esteem and confidence. Whether you want a 6 day adventure or a 21 day trip, there are options for everyone. SOAR staff are dedicated, patient instructors who are trained to work with this population of campers.
Our camps offer activities including backpacking, horseback riding, surfing, caving, snorkeling, llama trekking, study skills and more, for beginners and beyond, located across the country's most scenic places. The two SOAR basecamps are in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western Balsam, North Carolina and the wild and wonderful Dubois, Wyoming.
