Camp InventionThe Camp Invention program is a nationally acclaimed weeklong summer enrichment day experience for children entering in grades one through six that is free to schools and organizations nationwide. The top priority of the Camp Invention program is to provide quality enrichment programming in the fields of science, mathematics, history, and the arts.
Local schools host the program and the week's hands-on activities are led by local teachers to ensure a safe learning environment. The staff to child ratio is 1:8! The Camp Invention program enhances a child's ability to learn through teamwork and subject immersion while cultivating a new appreciation for discovery - it's learning disguised as fun!
Campers don't just learn about Colonial history; they live it firsthand. Travel back to the time when our nation was born and live as our patriot forefathers did using authentic equipment and accouterments of the 1700's.
Activities include: shoot black powder musket, throw a tomahawk, make moccasins, candle making, make dolls, write with quill and ink, cook on open fire, and much more. Two weeks of residential camp starting in June; One week of day camp in June in Raleigh, NC. Ages 9 to 15.

Camp KanataKanata, under the guidance of caring counselors and staff, surrounded by natural beauty, your child can spend the summer exploring and experiencing. Not just growing in inches, but growing into his or her own.
Kanata combines an array of opportunities for skill development and an emphasis on character growth with a mighty mix of fun and adventure, and then wraps it all up in a safe, protective environment that both kids and parents can feel good about.
Within this warm, friendly atmosphere, kids can meet new friends, extend their abilities and develop greater strength of character and personality. Of course, the health and safety of each camper is top priority at Kanata; our 1:5 counselor-to-camper ratio assures close supervision of all activities.

Gwynn Valley CampSince 1935, a summer camp for Boys and Girls, ages 5-14 which offers a farm, wilderness and traditional program that nurtures the child while fostering a connection with the land and the simple joys of childhood. The strength of Gwynn Valley is its nurturing environment in a child centered world where each camper will learn and grow under the guideance of a mature and caring staff. We are committed to each individual becoming a vital part of the community. Simplicity, acceptance, a non-competitive program, and an appreciation of the natural world are our core values. We maintain a camper/staff ratio of 3:1. Our residential camp offers sessions of 1, 2, and 3 weeks in length. We grow 70% of our food on our farm and operate an 1890's Grist Mill as an extension of that program. We also have a small Day Camp for children K-4th grade.
Primary activities at our coed camp include: Horseback Riding, Outdoor Living Skills, Farm, Mountain Biking, Texture Crafts, Rock Climbing, Grist Mill, Waterfront, Whitewater Kayaking and Canoeing, Pioneer Crafts, Sports, Fine Arts, Web of Life, and Backpacking and much more.
