Mill Basin Day CampSummers are for having fun. It's a time to spend with friends, make memories and share experiences that last a lifetime. That's what Mill Basin Day Camp is all about. Mill Basin is dedicated to providing an exciting and fulfilling camp experience for both children and their parents by providing of fun, recreational, social and educational activities.
Our staff consists of professionals, many of whom continue to work in child related fields throughout the year. Our directorial staff is comprised of licensed NYC Department of Education teachers and deans in various elementary and high schools. We equip our staff and facility with the latest and most modern safety and technological products in order to maintain constant contact and security both on and off the camp facility. Our modern, fully air-conditioned facility offers a wide range of activities for children entering Pre-K thru 9th grade in the upcoming September scholastic year. There are Five individual camp programs. Each camp has its own unique and innovative program that best suits the needs of the varying ages of our campers. The entire family is invited to come in for a tour of the facility and to discuss the camp program at length.
Oasis Day CampsOasis is a comprehensive camp and educational day camp and summer program that uses the wonderful resources found throughout a variety of open spaces to provide children with an extraordinary outdoor experience at an exceptional value. Oasis staff is a mixture of teachers, coaches, college students and program specialists. The Oasis adult to child ratio is 1:5. Oasis has been featured in the New York Times, WB11 news and MTV. The philosophy of Oasis is to create safe, physical play spaces for children which they be engaged in enriching summer activities without having to travel far from home at a fraction of the cost of other private day camp programs. National Computer CampsWhere learning and fun are rolled into one. . . Now in our 32nd year, National Computer Camp is America's original computer camp since 1977. The focus at NCC is 2D and 3D video game design, computer programming, digital video production, web page design, A+ and Network+ certification and software applications including networking, animation, Flash and graphics. Hofstra Specialty Camp offers a broad spectrum of co-ed specialty camps-with the flexibility to register for two, four, six or seven-week sessions- for children entering Kindergarten through 9th grade. Fencers Club Summer Day CampThe Fencers Club Summer Day Camp is a great chance for kids to combine mornings of entertaining educational activities with afternoons engaged with the exciting, fast-paced sport of modern fencing.
Creative writing: Learn to write expressively without constraints. The curriculum will be created by Bruno Navasky, a poet, teacher, author of several books and a writer for the New York Times Sunday Book Review. Math games and logical puzzle solving: Math games and puzzle solving teach fundamentals of mathematical thinking outside of a formal curriculum. The program is designed for us by a group of Harvard math/physics graduates who have extensive tutoring experience and love logical games. Chess: Learn to play chess in a program designed and supervised by Bruce Pandolfini, one of the most highly regarded chess teachers in the US (depicted in the movie Searching for Bobby Fisher). Instruction and game-play at all levels.
