Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com) is the arts day camp declared a "Best Of" camp by TimeOutNY/Kids, NY Metro Parents, and Long Island Press. The 2010 season begins on June 28th at the Center's 200-acre woodland campus on Long Island. Usdan is open to young people ages 6 to 18, and no audition is required - rather, admission is based on an expression of interest in the arts. Each summer, 1,600 students travel to the Center each day on air-conditioned buses that depart from neighborhoods throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Usdan was formed to provide the arts as a companion for life through great teaching and the camaraderie of fellow students whose common bond is their love of the arts. Usdan offers more than 40 programs in Music, Theater, Dance, Visual Arts, Nature, Chess, and Writing. Although Usdan's mission is for every child to establish a skill-based relationship with the arts, the unique stimulation of the Center has caused many to go on to professional careers. Alumni include singers Mariah Carey, Natalie Portman, and jazz singer Jane Monheit, as well as members of major music, theater, and dance ensembles throughout the world.

DayJams was created for kids between the ages of 8-15 by the National Guitar Workshop (NGW), the nation's largest summer music program. Since 1984, NGW has been teaching musicians at overnight programs across North America. At DayJams, younger students obtain a similar experience at day camps in their own communities. Coed day campsOasis is a comprehensive camp and educational day camp and summer program that uses the wonderful resources found throughout a variety of open spaces to provide children with an extraordinary outdoor experience at an exceptional value. Children are given the experience to have fun and explore in a safe, environment. Daily campers participate in sports & recreation, creative arts, field trips and more! All activities are taught by specialists in their given fields.
Oasis staff is a mixture of teachers, coaches, college students and program specialists. The Oasis adult to child ratio is 1:5. Oasis has been featured in the New York Times, WB11 news and MTV. The philosophy of Oasis is to create safe, physical play spaces for children which they be engaged in enriching summer activities without having to travel far from home at a fraction of the cost of other private day camp programs. Children enroll for a minimum of two consecutive weeks, a maximum of eight weeks or any combination you choose. For an additional fee, Oasis offers bus service or an early-drop off, late stay option. The Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center believes that the real "value" of camp is the value of friendship. Situated on over 350 sprawling acres at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights, Long Island, the Mid-Island Y JCC's summer programs emphasize caring, sharing and respect with friends old and new. Whether your child is enrolled in one of our day camps, sports camps, Aspire Program for children with special needs or theatre camp, each offers an action-packed schedule. Camp program activities include: American Red Cross swim instruction, Archery, Tennis, Ga-Ga, Soccer, Mini-Golf, Baseball, Dance, Pioneering, Photography, Music, Nature Hikes, Jewish Culture and much more. Thomas School of Horsemanship Summer Day Camp

Thomas School Summer Day Camp is a small camp filled with 65 years of tradition. At TSH we facilitate children learning life long skills such as responsibility, compassion, gentle communication, teamwork and the joys of success through interactions with horses and quality staff. Boys and girls from 3 years old to 15 year olds participate in daily horseback riding lessons, horse care lessons, and a stable period for the older campers. In addition to the full horsemanship program, campers enjoy daily swim lessons, and choose from a variety of sports and arts, such as tennis, gymnastics, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, archery, dance and drama.
The unique teen program draws a great group of teens who would rather be with horses than travel every day. Often these teens have their sights on becoming a camp counselor.
Many campers make it a year round activity by continuing riding lessons throughout the school year. Horses become a way of life for these children. The camp is being directed by Nancy Thomas, who is the 2nd generation owner-director. Not only are new families joining every year, but many children and grandchildren of past campers are experiencing the joys that their parents remember.
