Forest Lake Camp

Residential camp with separate campuses for boys and girls

We would like to welcome you to Forest Lake Camp, one of America's great sleepaway camps since 1926.

Our camp was founded by H.T. Confer, and remains in family hands to this day. Since 1926, thousands and thousands of boys and girls have experienced the wonders of Forest Lake Camp, gaining independence, developing self-confidence, establishing strong new friendships, touching the majesty of the outdoor world, and sampling an extraordinarily broad range of activities never experienced before.

We encourage you to view our website and begin to get to know us. Read about our values and principles. Look at our directors and counselors. Order our free DVD and see for yourself the absolute beauty of Forest Lake Camp, our fields, our private Adirondack lake with its extensive swimming and boating activities, our tennis and basketball courts, our horses for our outstanding riding program. View and read about the whitewater rafting trips, the hiking and fishing trips, our performing arts programs, and so much more. Read the testimonials, unsolicited, and check our parent references.

Forest Lake Camp is a wholesome, healthy, life-shaping experience for a child. It just might be right for yours. Sincerely, The Directors of Forest Lake Camp

Summer Institute for the Gifted

Coed Camps with Residential & Day Camp Sessions

Gifted students in grades K-12 can participate in the renowned Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) program. Hosted at some of the most famous colleges and universities in the country such as Princeton University, Dartmouth College and UC Berkeley, SIG has the best well-rounded program for gifted students as it combines academics, social, cultural and recreational opportunities. Students live and learn on campus for three-weeks, leaving with the additional confidence gained by an experience that is all their own.

Because of our small classes, low teacher-student ratio, and teaching assistants, SIG is able to individualize the program for each and every student. Student safety, security and health are our top priority as SIG programs are well staffed for careful supervision. Ten day programs are available for younger students and most of our residential programs have a commuter option. Our more than 25 years of experience have made us the leading organization in the field.
The Summer Institute for the Gifted is the program of the National Society for the Gifted (www.nsgt.org), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) foundation.

We believe in imagination, sleeping under the stars, getting dirt under your nails, friendship, cooking over a campfire, having an Alice in Wonderland or Jurassic Park day, playing ball, community, molding clay, fishing, sliding down a water slide, canoeing, caring for our camp farm animals and all the fun little details that make up an awesome childhood summertime!

Established as Incarnation Camp in 1886, our historic roots and strong alumni support enable us to offer the best in summer camping at half the cost of comparable sleep away programs. Pequot & Sherwood campers choose the layout of thier day from a roster of activities which include field and court sports, fine arts and crafting, performance arts, waterfront (canoe, sail, waterslide, etc.), outdoor adventure, and more! All campers recieve swim and boating instruction every day in our mile-long, crystal clear private lake which is the heart of our 740 acre forested site.

Pioneer Village for Teens, located across our lake, is a 4, 6, or 8 week program where campers have the oppurtunity to explore beautiful New England on hike, bike, and canoe trips.
