Outward BoundOutward Bound, a national nonprofit organization, offers over 500 adventure-based courses - year round - serving adults, teens and youth (ages 12+).
Course activities include rock climbing, sea kayaking, backpacking, mountaineering, sailing, dogsledding, canoeing and rafting in some of the most untouched wilderness areas across the nation. No matter the activity, courses focus on learning through experience, compassion, leadership and responsibility to both team and the environment. Vermont Adventure CampsVermont Adventure Camps offers camps for teens ages 11 to 17 years old. The camps offer a large variety of outdoor activities for all ability levels. The Dean College Summer Arts Mini-Fest (late July) residential program is a unique opportunity for 15- to 19-year-olds to gain college-level experience in the fields of classical dance as well as physical theatre taught by a dynamic team of faculty and professional artists. The sessions culminate with a public performance at Dean.
Participants live on the pristine Dean College campus supervised by experienced counselors and educators. The program includes trips to area theaters and cultural attractions, and the opportunity to learn new skills in dance, performance, juggling, stage combat, script interpretation, and more. If you are 13 or 14, New England Exploration goes whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing and backpacking, all in a 16-day trip. For ages 15-16, we offer the Ultimate Northeast Adventure! The name says it all. Between these two trips, we have White Mountain Climbing Camp, which is available to both age groups.
Farm and Wilderness CampsFarm & Wilderness operates five residential camps and a day camp.
The Barn Day Camp offers children ages 4-10 opportunities to garden, care for animals, hike, climb, swim, create art, and play.
At Timberlake, boys ages 9-14 can backpack, farm, garden, swim, boat, create art, and build a cabin.
Indian Brook offers girls 9-14 opportunities to milk a cow, cut down a tree, climb mountains, read a map, learn 100 songs, and build a cabin.
Tamarack Farm: 15-17 year olds living together and running an organic farm. There's also time for playing, swimming, and the arts.
Saltash Mountain is a coed adventure camp for 11-14 year olds. Backpacking, canoeing and rock climbing trips plus gardening, crafting, swimming, and playing.
Flying Cloud is for boys 11-14 to live close to the earth and learn primitive living skills. Wood carving, fire building, and animal tracking are a few of the many activities offered.
Adventure Travel CampsAdventure Travel Camps specializes in camps that travel through out New England & the Surrounding States. Teens travel in 15 passenger vans with a cargo trailer on the back with a small SUV with a kayak trailer following behind. Spend 15 to 30 days doing awesome adventures during the day while camping at pristine camp grounds at night.
There is a maximum of 16 kids at the camp and 3 counselors. The teens will participate in many adventures including rock climbing, river kayaking, white water kayaking, white water rafting, hiking, caving, mountain biking skate boarding and much more.
Cardigan Mountain School Summer SessionLots more than a summer camp... Located in the foothills of New Hampshire's White Mountains, the Cardigan Mountain School Summer Session combines academic review and enrichment with all of the recreation and fun of a traditional summer camp for boys and birls in grades 3-9. In the mornings, students can hone their skills in math or reading; work on study skills, note taking or test prep; or challenge themselves through literature, rocketry, robotics or foreign language courses.
Classes in music, pottery, drama, and photography highlight the arts program, and Cougar Clinics give students the opportunity to practice a favorite sport or learn a new one. With so many choices, each student can design his or her ideal summer experience. In the afternoons and weekends, the 500 acre lakeside campus provides an ideal setting for sports, swimming, sailing, and simply enjoying summer in New Hampshire. Camp KillooleetCamp Killooleet, a summer camp for boys and girls ages 9 - 14, is nestled into a beautiful corner of the Green Mountain National Forest in Hancock, Vermont. For over 80 years it has been owned and run by educators who know and listen to children. Killooleet is a "traditional camp" (varied activities, full season, weekly hikes and two overnight trips) that goes its own way in a non-traditional manner. Camp is non-competitive and highly individual. Strong cabin groups are built through working and playing together. With about 100 campers, Killooleet is small enough so that everyone knows each other and friendships develop between campers of different ages who share the same interests.
At Killooleet, half the activities are in sports (waterfront, team and individual) and half are in studio and performing arts. We all explore the beauty of Vermont for ten days over the summer, on foot, bicycle, canoe and horseback.

Acadia Institute of OceanographyLocated on Mt. Desert Island next to Acadia National Park, our hands-on, field program offers students the opportunity to learn about careers in oceanography through work at tidal pools, beaches, on board boat and in the lab.
Our academic marine science program runs for two weeks each and offers intermediate (12-15 years) and advanced sessions (15-18 years of age). We also offer a one-week introductory session for 10-12 year old students. You must have a satisfactory teacher recommendation for final acceptance into the program.

Hosted at some of the most famous colleges and universities in the country such as Princeton University, Dartmouth College and UC Berkeley, SIG has the best well-rounded program for gifted students as it combines academics, social, cultural and recreational opportunities. Students live and learn on campus for three-weeks, leaving with the additional confidence gained by an experience that is all their own.
Because of our small classes, low teacher-student ratio, and teaching assistants, SIG is able to individualize the program for each and every student. Student safety, security and health are our top priority as SIG programs are well staffed for careful supervision. Ten day programs are available for younger students and most of our residential programs have a commuter option.
