Campers don't just learn about Colonial history; they live it firsthand. Travel back to the time when our nation was born and live as our patriot forefathers did using authentic equipment and accouterments of the 1700's.

MindStretch Travel Adventures

Boys' Adventure Travel Program

MindStretch Travel Adventures offers adventure travel programs for boys ages 9 and older. Boys participate in camp-type activities during the day such as hiking, exploring, geocaching, rafting, canoeing, horseback riding, and mountain biking. And they also get to spend time just being tourists in some of the greatest scenic areas in the United States and abroad.

Trips vary in length from 7 to 21 days depending on year and destination. In the evening boys stay in motels (most with pools) and enjoy a dinner in a sit-down restaurant. Destinations include: Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, New England, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Canada, and more. Every two or three years MindStretch Travel Adventures offers a unique opportunity to travel through Europe by Eurail. Boys pick and choose where they want to visit and get there by Europe's fantastic train system.

Camp Caraway is a camp for boys, sponsored by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Boys do not need to be Baptist to attend. We also have a Christian backpacking program called Christian High Adventure, featuring male-only and coed trips.

Our camp is located in the beautiful Uwharrie Mountains, seven miles west of Asheboro, North Carolina. Since 1963 more than 50,000 boys have been challenged toward strengthening their Christian walk at Caraway.

Camp Victory is a 3 week Residential Wilderness Camp for boys 7-17 who lack self confidence or who are facing behavioral problems in their families or schools. It is based on the fundamental principles of honesty, teamwork, faith and courage. These ideals bring young men back to the basics and teach them the importance of respect. It is operated in a wilderness setting with minimal conveniences, which serves to maximize opportunities to search one's heart and learn respect and purpose for life. A Camping Tradition Since 1914 Camp Dixie provides a supportive, family-like environment by limiting its enrollment to 70 campers. Considered conservative and traditional, our summer residential program is designed for children between the ages of 6 to 15. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northeast Georgia, near Clayton at an elevation of 3000 feet, Camp Dixie covers more than 345 lush acres.

Camp Dixie offers one, two and multiple week sessions. An important ingredient to the success of each camper is Dixie's limited enrollment. Campers and Staff alike easily know each other's names creating an atmosphere that easily supports our "family" philosophy of camping.
