Night Eagle Wilderness AdventuresNight Eagle Wilderness Adventures is a unique primitive summer camp for boys. At Night Eagle, we live in tipis and do things that boys did hundreds of years ago - learn survival skills (fire making with flint & steel or bow drills, plant identification, tracking), create lots of craft items (birchbark baskets, moccasins), go on hikes, canoe, swim, and play lots of games (Buffalo Robe, Stalk the Chief and Slack 'Em to name a few)!
Through these activities and the slower pace of life in camp, boys naturally develop a deeper respect for the land and an authentic sense of personal accomplishment as they learn to live competently in the woods.
Night Eagle is a different kind of camp based on mutual responsibility and cooperation. Through community living and group decision making, boys learn to live and play together in a spirit of cooperation rather than competition. ACA accredited camp.

No matter the activity, courses focus on learning through experience, compassion, leadership and responsibility to both your community and the environment. Courses range in length from 4 days to three months. Some scholarships and financial aid may be available.

We enjoy a 90% return rate, which is proof of how much fun camp is and how much campers get from the Winnebago experience.
How to measure value at camp? Ask the child, and they answer "fun". Ask the adult and they answer "values" and "healthy relationships". We are committed to these terms and how easily they work together. Children want and like a certain program structure. Whether through instructional and competitive sports program, the rustic canoe and mountain trips, individual activities aimed at improving lifelong skills, or many special activities, we love children and insure fun, values and healthy relationships. We stay small because we stress community and everyone knows each other.
While many activities have changed over time, our guiding principles remain. Our goals are respecting ourselves and others, mastering new skills and perfecting old ones, acting kindly, cooperating, and cultivating strength of character. Boys come to Winnebago feeling our program was designed specifically for them. They leave with skills and memories that last a lifetime.
