Position Available: Camp Nurse
Salary Range: Competitive depending on experience |
- Help ensure the successful and high quality operation of our camp from a healthcare perspective. Coordinate all health care functions and oversee execution of health care policies and procedures. Residential position at a co-ed overnight and day summer camp.
- Day to day responsibility for implementing Emagination Computer Camps Health Care Plan. This includes providing First Aid, individual health care, maintaining health records, administering and managing medications, collaborating with external health care providers and communicating with parents/guardians.
- During emergencies or crises, lead and coordinate the camp's response from a healthcare perspective in order to provide for the health and safety of campers and staff. Set up and maintain the nurse's station and infirmary room.
- Review camper and staff Health History Forms. Collect any medications to be administered to staff and campers and check for observable evidence of illness, injury, or communicable disease and verify and update the Health History Forms.

- Deer Hill Expeditions seeks experienced, motivated, and caring outdoor educators to lead wilderness expeditions and service projects in the American Southwest, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.
- Responsibilities of Field Leaders: To ensure the safety and well-being of each participant and to lead expeditions that are fun while fostering participants' growth as individuals.
- Specific elements include: teaching wilderness living skills, off-trail route finding, adjusting backpacks, fixing stoves, guiding loaded rafts through rapids, facilitating fun games and activities to a group, managing a top rope site or guiding a difficult discussion of the group's dynamics.
- Qualifications: Previous experience leading groups in the wilderness. Experience leading and teaching rafting, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, mountaineering, canyoneering and/or service projects. CPR + WFR certification. Training from NOLS, OB, or college outdoor programs a plus.
