Location: Dartmouth College, Amherst College, Vassar College Dates vary by campus The Nurse is responsible for first aid triage, medical information and operations in the infirmary. The Nurse is equipped with either a walkie-talkie or cellular telephone at all times so she is available for emergencies and can communicate effectively during program operations. The Nurse is responsible for effective infection control procedures. Students requiring first aid treatments due to injuries, infections or illness, homesickness, or requiring administration of prescribed medications are directed to the care of the Nurse. The Nurse participates in setting up the program infirmary, training staff on emergencies, and advising the Director on medical issues affecting students and staff. The nurse maintains the medical log, records and processes workers compensation claims, maintains all medical records and advises on infection control procedures in the outbreak of a virus and/or triage center for emergencies. Position Available: Residential Counselor Salary Range: $1150 per session
The responsibility of the Counselor is to supervise, mentor and coach students through their social and academic interactions. The Counselor supervises the students and is assigned a daily and weekend schedule of instructional and program responsibilities by the Academic Dean. He assists instructors as a teaching assistant, supervises study tutorials, and assists in office administration according to the assigned schedule. The Counselor supervises recreational activities, supports special programs, and attends SIG events with students. The Counselor works for a three-week period, during which she is actively involved with students from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, over a twenty-one day period. The Counselor's daily schedule includes a daily work-free period and he is scheduled for two days off within the twenty-one day period. The Counselor assists as directed by SIG staff in program emergencies as needed, including those emergencies that occur in the middle of the night and/or on weekends.
