The Chattahoochee Nature Center is a private, non-profit environmental education facility located in Roswell, Georgia. Our mission is to promote appreciation and understanding of the natural environment. Camp Kingfisher is an environmental education day camp. All sessions focus on environmental science education, mixed in with traditional camp activities such as canoeing, swimming, and arts& crafts. We offer elective skills classes, daily wildlife interaction, professional musical entertainment, and 127 acres of beautiful nature. Description: Supervising groups of young children (grades K - 9) in an outdoor setting; developing and implementing environmental education activities on a daily basis, program resources provided; handling captive wildlife used daily in camp programs; rotating coverage of after-care programs once a week; attending weekly camp staff meetings; working with other staff and volunteers as a team. At least one male and one female instructor who are responsible for the safe implementation of the Cosby Expedition Program and Adventure Village Outdoor Track trip. Expeditions and Outdoor Track will travel all over Central and Northern Alabama. Expedition Program includes whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, caving, backpacking, hiking, and canoeing.
