Camp Friendship was founded in 1966 and is still managed by the Ackenbom family. This is a place where campers come back to year after year to visit with old friends and make new ones, supporting our motto "Enter here to be and find a friend". Camp Friendship is more than just fun and games, we also cater to the development needs of our campers. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on 520 acres Camp Friendship offers a variety of programs for boys and girls ages 7-16. Traditional camp programs for Juniors and Teens offer more than 40 activities for campers to choose from to create a fun and fulfilling summer.
Our campers can mix and match one-week sessions with VIVA! Trips for teens or add a half-day Sports Clinic including Tennis, Golf, Gymnastics, Soccer, and Waterskiing instructed by qualified instructors. For the girls who just love horses, the Equestrian Program with more than 80 camp-owned horses is the camp program for them! The Camp Friendship staff and its campers have represented over 80 different countries over our 45 years for a diverse cultural interaction.

Located high atop the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwest North Carolina, YMCA Camp Cheerio is the ideal place for persons of all ages to enjoy a camping or retreat experience. Camp Cheerio offers many challenging programs, from summer resident (sleepover) and coed adventure camps. With over 20 activities to choose from there is something for everyone.

Separate Teen Campus: Cayuga provides two separate programs geared to the different age groups on each campus. Teen Campus is reserved exclusively for teenagers who are entering 8th and higher. Junior Campus houses campers entering 1st to 8th grade who are age 13 and younger.
Create Your Own Activity Schedule: Campers select their own activities each morning after breakfast. You sign-up for activities with your friends, so you can attend the same activities together. Camp Highlander is a co-ed residential summer camp devoted to the growing and nurturing of boys and girls, ages 5-16 in a safe, fun-filled environment since 1957. Located in the North Carolina mountains, our goal is to give children memories to fill their hearts, friendships to last a lifetime, and achievements to give them confidence while encouraging them to build character and strong values that will remain with them always. Our qualified and caring staff are able leaders, dedicated to providing each child with an exciting summer of adventure, while maintaining the highest standards of safety.
Our program consists of over 35 activities with five primary disciplines including sports, waterfront, arts, horseback riding and wilderness experience. One thing that makes Camp Highlander so unique is our wonderful off-camp adventures. Whitewater rafting trips to the Nantahala River, overnights in Pisgah Forest, water-skiing at Lake Keowee, swimming in the beautiful waterfalls and Looking Glass Falls . . . taking our campers into the magical Appalachian mountains is the highlight of their experience. FOR KIDS ONLY...keep reading! Everything you want from a summer camp is at Fairview Lake YMCA. When you sign up for our traditional sleep away camp, you get to make your own schedule and choose the activities you like most! Our great activities include windsurfing/sailing, archery, arts & crafts, canoeing, rock climbing, dance, drama, in-line skating, kayaking, high and low-ropes courses, snorkeling, street hockey, swimming, voice, guitar, and of course tons of other sports options. We also have a horseback riding camp and other specialty camps for tennis, fine arts, sailing/windsurfing. Some of these specialty camps are only for boys and others are only for girls. YMCA Camp Fitch is located on the shores of Lake Erie in NW Pennsylvania. Camp Fitch is a combination of a large traditional summer camp, a tripping program and specialty camps.
Traditional camp has a very strong aquatic program on three different waterfronts and a large variety of other activities such as horses, crafts, archery, rock climbing, and many sports. Camp High Rocks is a small camp for boys in the mountains of Western North Carolina. High Rocks is a place for fun and learning, for challenge and adventure, and for living in an environment that is geared to a camper's needs and interests.

We offer ongoing opportunities for success, a freedom from inhibiting competitive pressure, and an environment that promotes increased self-esteem and a close sense of community.
