Wilderness Adventure, Service, Language, and Cultural Immersion Maine, Oregon, Washington, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Colorado, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Spain, Ecuador and the Galįpagos, Ireland

Character-building adventure travel in world-class settings. Groups of 10 - 15 students and their leaders are an ideal size to foster leadership skills, effective communication, confidence building, and fun. Each 15 - 28 day expedition is co-ed, grouped by age, and offers a different mix of activities: snorkeling with dolphins, Spanish immersion, and community service in Honduras, surfing, white water rafting, and service in Costa Rica/Panama, digital photography and falconry in Ireland, service, rainforest trekking, and surfing in Ecuador and the Galįpaogos, sea kayaking and canyoning in Spain, surfing and biking in Oregon, white water kayaking in Maine, mountaineering and rock climbing in Colorado, sailing and snowboarding in British Columbia.

Complementing our daytime activities, we often finish our days with evening meetings. These sessions further bond the group together and help kids speak from the heart with confidence. O'Brien's Raft Camp is the only exclusive rafting camp for teens in the USA! This incredible whitewater camp covers nearly fifty miles of river and paddling time. Campers learn the art of team paddling in paddle rafts and the thrill of individual accomplishment in the inflatable kayaks, running Class I, II, and III level rapids. Outward Bound Wilderness, a national nonprofit organization, offers over 500 adventure-based wilderness courses - year round - serving adults, teens and youth (ages 12+).

Course activities include rock climbing, sea kayaking, backpacking, mountaineering, sailing, dogsledding, canoeing and rafting in some of the most untouched wilderness areas across the nation. No matter the activity, courses focus on learning through experience, compassion, leadership and responsibility to both team and the environment. Courses range in length from 4 days to three months in length. Scholarships are available.

Camp Tamarack is a traditional summer camp located on Dark Lake in the Cascade Mountains of Central Oregon's Deschutes National Forest. We offer 4 all-girl sessions and one all-boy session each summer for youth age 7-16. Our program areas include horseback riding and instruction, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, arts and crafts, drama, dance, rock climbing, challenge course, whitewater rafting, mountain biking and more.

We also offer Family Time during the week before and weekend of Labor Day. This gives families and groups the opportunity to return to camp by sleeping in cabins and creating a daily schedule that works for them.
