Kansas Adventures in Outer SpaceAt the Smithsonian-affiliated Cosmosphere, you're never too young or old to explore space.
Where residential summer camp programs inspire future engineers, scientists and even future astronauts!
Campers entering 7th grade and above train in the Cosmosphere's exciting simulators: our Space Shuttle simulator, named the Falcon III, a 4-g centrifuge, multi-axis trainer, Soyuz trainer, flight simulators, and our stress simulator. Campers build and launch rockets, get close up interactive tours of the Hall of Space Museum and operate mission control. Explore the night sky, perform underwater scuba exercises, experience ropes course team training and even travel to Johnson Space Center in Houston and Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Connect the dots at the Cosmosphere with hands-on learning, accountable team building, inspiration, dreams and outcomes that encourage tomorrow's achievers.
New Hope Wilderness CampNew Hope Wilderness Camp is a Christian-based program. Our passion is to facilitate a HEART change, as anything short of that does not last. We are not a bootcamp or a bratcamp. We do not subject the kids to anything that we don't do ourselves. We have an 88% success rate, and higher when parents will take our suggestions and engage in making the necessary adjustments. Although our program is 21 days, we continue to keep in touch with the kids indefinitely (and parents as needed) to keep them accountable to the decisions they make while they are here.
We are a unique program, in that we use horses to do therapy (Equine Assisted Learning) with the young people. We also do comprehensive testing to identify the blend of each child's "temperament" enabling us to quickly identify why they do what they do and what to do about it. We are a holistic program. We educate both the child and the parent how to change these behavioral patterns. We also have counseling sessions EVERY day, along with other curriculum.
Camp Grady Spruce YMCAEstablished in 1949, YMCA Camp Grady Spruce is all about relationships. We strengthen relationships with God, His creation and each other.
Camaraderie, joy, and memories are created along the shores of stunning Possum Kingdom Lake. Campers fall asleep under a star-filled sky and wake to the sun rising over the lake.
Camp Grady Spruce is made up of three individual camp sites: Main Camp (7-12 yr old boys), Ray Bean Camp (7-12 yr old girls), Frontier Camp (13-16 yr old co-ed). All camps offer activities such as water skiing/wakeboarding, sailing, and horses. Frontier offers Adventure Trips and leadership opportunities.
Camp is more than natural beauty and activities. It is a place where kids try new things, learn to live in community, appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of each other and experience the example of Christian living.
Character development is the most important benefit of the CGS experience. We embrace four core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
New Hope is an Oklahoma-based prison ministry for children who have a parent in prison. These children are seven times more likely to end up in prison themselves. Our mission is to empower these children and their families to create a healthy future in the hopes of ending the generational cycle of incarceration.
This camp offers creative education and life skills as children enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, arts and crafts, sports and chapel. Caregivers receive a much needed break. The camp is limited to 40 children so counselors can coach and mentor individual campers.
