YMCA Camp Lakewood, a branch of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis is a co-ed summer residential camp for ages 6-17, located 75 miles south of St. Louis between Potosi and Steelville, MO. Set amidst 5,000 beautiful woodland acres with a private 360-acre lake, Camp Lakewood is a true escape. Your child will forget all about television, video games, and mp3 players while discovering the ultimate childhood experience, all within a safe and trusted environment.
Programs at Camp Lakewood are based on the YMCA's four core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. We believe in making your camper stronger in spirit, mind and body! At Camp Lakewood, your camper can attend our Traditional Summer Camp Program, participate in the Ranger Program, work on leadership skills in our Leaders In Training Program (LIT), or focus on a special elective of our regular camp program like Horsemanship.
Campers ages six to eight can experience a taste of the summer camp program through Mini-Camp. We also have Tween Camp for campers ages 9-10 or Pre-Teen Camp for ages 11-12.

With an 85% camper return rate & a 90% staff return rate, Kawaga is like no other camp.

New Hope Wilderness Camp
Wilderness Adventure Program
New Hope Wilderness Camp is a Christian-based program. Our passion is to facilitate a HEART change, as anything short of that does not last. We are not a bootcamp or a bratcamp. We do not subject the kids to anything that we don't do ourselves. We have an 88% success rate, and higher when parents will take our suggestions and engage in making the necessary adjustments. Although our program is 21 days, we continue to keep in touch with the kids indefinitely (and parents as needed) to keep them accountable to the decisions they make while they are here.
We are a unique program, in that we use horses to do therapy (Equine Assisted Learning) with the young people. We also do comprehensive testing to identify the blend of each child's "temperament" enabling us to quickly identify why they do what they do and what to do about it. We are a holistic program. We educate both the child and the parent how to change these behavioral patterns. We also have counseling sessions EVERY day, along with other curriculum.

Yes, we really do have monkeys and 100's of other animals. We are an animal lovers dream come true! Our curiosity guided programs offer a safe place to interact with over 300 animals! 26 week long courses include; Jr Vet, Adopt an Animal, Pottery, CSI, Archery, Survival Skills, Cooking, Crafts, Fishing, Riflery, Build it yourself physics lab and so much more.
Campers come from all over the world. Airport transportation available from the St. Louis International Airport. Located on 240 acres of oak/hickory forest. Our camp offers; modern air-conditioned cabins, swimming pool, fishing ponds, miles of hiking trails and it's own camp zoo.
Missouri Military Academy Summer Leadership Camp
Residential Boys' Summer Camp
This is a two-week residential military leadership camp for boys ages 13-17 . The camp is a rigorous two week program that teaches campers the basics of leadership while exposing them to a variety of fun, adventurous and physically challenging activities.
Activities include daily physical training, paintball, rappelling, rifle marksmanship, canoeing, Pugil sticks, swimming, knot tying, leadership reaction course, first aid training with certification and map reading.
The camp is sponsored by Missouri Military Academy, a school for boys located in the heart of the Midwest. Our historic 288-acre campus features residence halls, state of the art buildings, a rappelling tower, stables, a paintball course and an obstacle course. Counselors and camp directors are experienced faculty members , many of whom serve on the MMA teaching staff.
*Camp Rainbow
Residential camp for children with cancer and blood-related diseasesCamp Rainbow is a week-long sleepover camp for children ages 6 to 13 who have had or are currently living with cancer or other blood-related disorders. The goal of Camp Rainbow is to enable these children to have a "normal" camping experience, regardless of their illness or the side effects of their treatments.
Daily camp activities include archery, arts and crafts, drama, a low ropes challenge course, fishing, music, nature, sports, and swimming. Afternoons have exciting choice activities such as photography, cooking, magic, pottery, or jewelry making. With special theme each day, such as Western Day, Superhero Day, and Circus Day, it is no surprise to see campers, counselors, and staff in full costume. Every day a broad range of enthusiastic guests such as magicians, clowns, firefighters, police, and professional athletes visit camp to join in on the fun. Each evening has special activities like square dancing, live music, a movie night, and a DJ'd dance. At least once during camp, staff take the oldest campers on an "off-campus" outing.
