Located on a three mile long natural spring-fed lake ~ called Stockbridge Bowl ~ in the Berkshires, Camp MKN offers a traditional 7 week session; younger first-time campers can come for 4 weeks with an option to extend. The spirit of Camp Mah-Kee-Nac lies in the strong sense of community and opportunities for individual growth. | Generations of campers have spent time at our traditional brother/sister overnight camp located on Cape Cod, surrounded by 300 acres of woodland and three lakes. There's no such thing as a typical day at Camp, but our activities include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, tubing, water-skiing, nature, arts & crafts, horseback riding, music, archery, basketball, soccer, tennis, outdoor pursuits, drama, mountain biking and dance. We also have a 3 day colored competition, a legendary carnival, campfires, talent shows, night time adventures and much more. One and two week sessions are available as well as our one-week coed specialty camp. Our Summer Teen program provides the opportunity for campers to try an Adventure Trip, Community Service Learning Project or develop new skills in our Outdoor Leadership courses. Activities include whitewater rafting, surfing, scuba diving, summer skiing, mountain biking, bicycle touring, kayaking, rock climbing, canoeing, and backpacking. 6-day and 13-day trips travel to Hawaii, Alaska, California, West Virginia, Oregon, The Cape and Islands, and Canada. | Briarwood Summer Camps proudly offer 1-week overnight sessions for Marine Science and Sailing for Boys and Girls entering grades 5 through 10. The camp is located on Cape Cod just over the Bourne Bridge boasting an extensive waterfront on Little Bay. The Marine Science offers marine life capture and observation, exploring the coast by snorkeling or kayaking, dissecting sharks, fishing and much more. The sailing program is designed to introduce a 'how to' approach to new sailors or challenge experienced sailors in greater objectives. Briarwood, which is adjacent to 90 acres of conservation land and 2000 feet of shoreline, is equipped with a studio classroom, seven heated cabins and a bathhouse, and a marine lab. Nature trails wander through adjoining woods, and a marine laboratory, boat dock, and swimming float are in place for use during the warmer months. The marine lab is outfitted with touch tanks, several large aquaria, collection and sampling equipment, and water quality apparatus. Additional resources include computers, printers, digital cameras, a fleet of sailboats and kayaks. |
