Randolph-Macon Academy Summer ProgramsRandolph-Macon Academy's Middle School Enrichment Camp offers students in grades 6-8 the opportunity to take fun enrichment classes in the areas of science, writing, reading, math, technology, study skills, and history. Students are in class four mornings each week, and spend the afternoons engaged in swimming, sports, community service, nature/conservation activities, and more. Wednesdays are spent at area attractions and museums. Weekends include trips to amusement parks and museums, Jamestown, whitewater rafting, and swimming.
Additional programs: For students in grades 6-12, there is an English as a Second Language (ESL) course, which is an immersion course that features classroom learning, computer-oriented training, and field trips. For high school students in grades 9-12, R-MA offers classes for new and repeat credit, including most core courses, Spanish, and several electives. Fun Bot LabFun Bot Lab is a unique robotics and media camp for boys and girls focused on having as much fun with robots as humanly possible. We start with the basic Lego and NXT systems and then modify them, add hardware, submit them to complex challenges all the while teaching important skills in math and science. In the afternoon, we turn to creative digital media formats to create images, music and videos of our experiences.
In the past, students have created animations with Flash, mixed music, created panoramic photography, created commercials, explored DC, made claymation movies and of course - designed, built, programmed all manner of robotic inventions. In weekly full- and half-day music camps, kids learn to perform in a band, DJ, sing in a glee club or promote their band. No experience necessary. Early-childhood camps for 3.5-6 year olds. Morning, afternoon or full-day sessions are offered from mid-June through August. Winter camp is offered during the winter break and spring camp during spring break.
Longacre LeadershipLongacre Leadership is a summer program for teenagers ages 12-18. We are based on a 200-acre farm in central Pennsylvania. Longacre offers two summer sessions, four-weeks and six-weeks. Both begin July 1st.
Here are three things you should know about Longacre. One, you'll have a lot of choice. We offer farming, gardening, horseback riding, community service, the arts, outdoor adventure, and athletics. You choose what you do every day. Two, we offer a lot of support. Longacre is about building lasting friendships. Our staff give teenagers the support they need: the confidence to take a risk, the encouragement to do a favor, the patience to work in a team. Three, we teach communication skills. Direct communication can be hard. We give teenagers the confidence to clarify their thoughts and then the skills to communicate.
Notes: Longacre promotes diversity. Enrollment is capped at 72 teenagers.
University of Maryland, Young Scholars ProgramThe Young Scholars Program invites HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS to an amazing pre-college experience at the University of Maryland. Students with exceptional ability and promise pursue academic interests, discover career opportunities, earn three college credits, and explore the independence of university life.
The program offers a selection of over 20 courses that are at the cutting-edge of theory, thought, and technology. Courses are enriched with field trips and guest speakers, taking Young Scholars from theory to practice. Beyond the classroom, seminars, workshops, and social activities further the exchange of ideas with equally talented peers.
Summer Music ProgramsThe Summer Music Camp you've been waiting for! Musicians ages 11-17 play the music they want to play in air-conditioned rehearsal rooms with full-time, hand-picked instructors. They also record a CD at real award-winning recording studios and perform in concert with professional sound & lights!

Camp WabannaA non-denominational Christian camp located on the Chesapeake Bay. Both overnight and day camp programs are available. Outward BoundOutward Bound, a national nonprofit organization, offers over 500 adventure-based courses - year round - serving adults, teens and youth (ages 12+).
Course activities include rock climbing, sea kayaking, backpacking, mountaineering, sailing, dogsledding, canoeing and rafting in some of the most untouched wilderness areas across the nation. No matter the activity, courses focus on learning through experience, compassion, leadership and responsibility to both team and the environment. Courses range in length from 4 days to three months in length. Scholarships are available.

TIC Summer CampSince 1983, TIC has offered technology and sports in the Washington DC area.
