Camp WoodmontA smaller-sized traditional summer camp with extremely close owner supervision. Camp owner Jane Bennett, along with her two children, camp directors Tyran Bennett and Alyson Bennett Gondek are hands-on camp directors with extensive qualifications (see below).
All counseling staff are college students and undergo extensive interviews, background checks and on-site director-led training including five days of climbing and high ropes training led by nationally known trainers, a four-day American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification class led by camp director and Red Cross instructor Tyran Bennett; and Archery certification. Both directors are certified horseback riding instructors and we also send staff to a horseback safety clinic. We top off all this specialty training with a full week of camp policy and activities training immediately prior to camp start.
Our family-type atmosphere means we can get to know every camper; it gives younger campers a feeling of reassurance and belonging and older campers a chance to grow and contribute in a community of support. Our traditional program includes extensive arts/crafts and performing arts as well as sports, aquatics, horseback riding, high adventure and much more.
New Hope Wilderness CampNew Hope Wilderness Camp is a Christian-based program. Our passion is to facilitate a HEART change, as anything short of that does not last. We are not a bootcamp or a bratcamp. We do not subject the kids to anything that we don't do ourselves. We have an 88% success rate, and higher when parents will take our suggestions and engage in making the necessary adjustments. Although our program is 21 days, we continue to keep in touch with the kids indefinitely (and parents as needed) to keep them accountable to the decisions they make while they are here.
We are a unique program, in that we use horses to do therapy (Equine Assisted Learning) with the young people. We also do comprehensive testing to identify the blend of each child's "temperament" enabling us to quickly identify why they do what they do and what to do about it. We are a holistic program. We educate both the child and the parent how to change these behavioral patterns. We also have counseling sessions EVERY day, along with other curriculum.
Bethel Mennonite CampBethel Camp is a Christ-centered ministry with an emphasis on Bible study and personal commitment to Christ. In addition to the fun young people have while here, scores have come to know Jesus as Lord, over the past forty years.
Activities include: Hiking, Creek Hikes, Water Slide, Campfires, Shuffleboard, Archery, Outdoor Basketball, Outdoor Volleyball, and various other indoor activities.
The Tim Horton Children's Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization committed to providing an enriched and memorable camp experience for economically disadvantaged children and youth.
