The overall camp theme for 2006 is "Where Friends Make a Difference" - our compass point for all of our summer preparation. Through fun and interactive techniques, staff will bring forth the values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in daily camp life. This summer also features our new 'Double Decker' High Ropes Course with 17 multi-level obstacles.

YMCA Storer Camps is redefining camping: combining nearly 100 years of experience with 21st Century facilities and programs. Ages 8-17: DIRT, ROCKS & WORMS - ages 8-9… short session: rocks eventually become dirt, which everything is made from…where there's dirt, there's worms (includes rock-climbing & rockin' road trip).

NATURE'S NIGHTLIFE & CREPUSCULAR CREATURES - ages 10-11… explore the night to awaken all your senses and experience nocturnal wildlife, as well as animals active at dawn & dusk (includes camp-out, bird banding, high ropes, rock climbing, team building, etc).

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE - ages 12-13… Do you have what it takes to survive in the wild? Wilderness survival skills, wild edibles, wilderness navigation, canoeing, animal tracking, a camp-out, high ropes, rock climbing, Ojibwe skills, team building.

BOUNDARY WATERS ADVENTURE - ages 14-17…test your limits while acquiring new wilderness skills. Travel via canoe and portage in this pristine wilderness. WOODS WILDERNESS SCHOOL program is a different kind of summer camp experience - an opportunity to engage kids in nature through outdoor activities that promote environmental awareness, compassion and an ethic of care for the earth.

A small, creative, noncompetitive camp for ages 7-15 located on 120 wooded acres. Campers thrive in a caring, safe community where they are challenged to explore their own talents and skills. We encourage the unique worth of each individual, the value of cooperation in our diverse community, and the creative exploration of our natural environment.

Campers/staff develop their own activities; learn physical skills like woodworking, cooking, swimming, pottery, canoeing; learn life skills like responsibility for one's actions and making decisions. Teens have building/service projects, and field trips for biking/canoeing.

Experience a sizzling summer in a small sized camp with big time adventure!

Located on 180 acres in Ingleside Illinois, Camp Henry Horner offers a wide range of activities and facilities such as a heated pool, high ropes course, sports fields and tennis courts, arts and crafts, dance, boating, sailing, cooking, biking and skate park and aqua park. A unique feature of our Overnight program is our weekend trips to the Winsconsin Dells, Kings Island in Ohio and the Mall of America in Minnesota. We travel on air-conditioning coach buses to make the long ride seem short and maximize the fun.

Setting the Day camp program apart (besides the incredible "real camp" facility) are the incredible overnighters and the ability for campers entering grades 3-8 to choose much of their schedule. Overnight camp serves children and teens entering grades 3-9 in one, two, four or six week sessions between June 29th- August 8th. Day camp serves children in kindergarten to 8th grade with door-to-door busing from June 16th- August 8th. We also offer six and eight week, day and overnight combination sessions. Camp Henry Horner. Courage Camps offer safe, accessible, natural environments where children and adults with physical disabilities, sensory and language impairments, and other disabilities or illnesses discover abilities they never knew they had or they thought they had lost.

Campers make new friends, and are often introduced to sports or hobbies they develop further at home or at school. Their self confidence grows and their attitudes improve. Speech/language services are available at Camp Courage for campers on the active caseload of a school Speech/Language Pathologist.

Camp Anokijig has been recognized for excellence in camping since 1926, with a rich tradition and history of offering youth an experience that will last a lifetime. "Anokijig" is a Native American word meaning "We Serve" but it is also synonymous with new friends, personal growth, positive values, great adventures, and outrageous fun. Couple this with our dedication to offer an experience with emphasis on values like caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and you have a combination that can't be beat! Programs are offered to boys and girls ages 7 to 16, for three days, one week, or for up to nine weeks of summer fun. St. Francis Camp is a 19 acre speciality camp for the cognitively disabled. We offer all recreational activities designed for our camper population. We also offer daily living skills to teach our campers living in their home environment. Campers are encouraged to help plan their own activities, and partake in selection of a wide range of activities including: Swimming, Boating, Fishing, Canoeing, Paddle Boating, (all which are supervised by certified waterfront staff), Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Hiking, Dances, Nature Study, Camp Craft, Sing-A-Longs, Caring For Camp Pets, Water Sliding ... all the usual summer camp fun plus much, much more.

Camp licensed for children and adults 8 to 80. We accept all mentally handicapped children and adults.
