Coed Residential Camp for People with Autism

Camp Lakey Gap is a residential camp for people, ages 4 to adult, on the autism spectrum. We strive to nurture people on the autism spectrum with an enriching summer camp experience not possible in a traditional camp setting. We make every effort to serve all people with autism, regardless of the degree of disability. Campers receive 1:1 or 1:2 staff ratio to support them in participating in visually structured activities throughout the week. Activities include hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, music, outdoor games, gardening, canoeing, lake play and more.

Our staff are college and graduate students who are usually pursuing a degree in special education, psychology, or a related human services field. They participate in a thorough week long training that fully prepares them for working with people on the autism spectrum. The staff is supported, throughout the summer, by local autism professionals who consult to the program daily.
