Encourage Kids to Live a Balanced Lifestyle at Sports Summer Camp

In modern times kids struggle with living a balanced lifestyle. Oftentimes kids are spending too much time in front of the computer, phone, or the TV. They are bombarded with media from every direction and, without knowing it, are often being influenced by various ideas and beliefs they encounter. This can be overwhelming and may create a state of confusion and stress for many kids. At sports camp, boys and girls learn skills to help them live healthy, balanced lives all the time whether they are at camp, at school, or at home.

Kids Learn to Spend Time Outdoors

Science has proven that time spent outside is good for all humans, but especially for the developing brains of children of any age. Camping is the perfect way to get your child out from behind the screen and into the sunlight, woods, and fields. By experiencing the fun and rewards of playing sports, kids are able to realize how wonderful it is to be physically engaged and to move the body on a regular basis.

Kids Learn to Eat Healthy

Many camps not only have a curriculum that supports healthy behaviors and habits, they also serve a menu that supports overall health. Instead of sugar-filled drinks and candy, kids are encouraged to drink water, enjoy fruits and vegetables, and eat meals that give them the energy they need to get back out on the field, court, or in the water. Over time kids can learn to enjoy their veggies while experiencing firsthand how eating well improves performance and life in general.

Kids Learn to Celebrate the Individual and the Team Equally

One of the most important lessons kids learn is that individuality and teamwork are equally important. Every individual player brings a special talent to the game, but no single player can win--there must be equal respect for all players and the skills they possess, as well as for the team as a whole. A team is more than the sum of its parts. Together players can create something truly unforgettable, and by being part of a team, children's lives are greatly enhanced.
