Camp RYNO's program educates teens to become more aware of the value of their lives and the impact they have on the earth and other people. Throughout the week of camp, teens are taught the importance of a balanced lifestyle. These balances include aspects of body, mind, and soul. We at Camp RYNO strongly believe that creating a balance in our lives will promote happiness, health, and self worth.
Riverview Camp for GirlsWe've put together everything you're looking for in a perfect camp setting! On-top of Lookout Mountain and on Little River, Camp Riverview is 45 minutes S. of Chattanooga. Recognized as one of the South's premier all-around Summer Camps for girls, Riverview's Christian emphasis is appreciated by both parents and campers! One and two week programs!
Traditional camp activities including Riding (both English and Western), swimming (heated pool), tennis, ropes course, climbing tower, canoeing,golf, archery, riflery, gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, sports, outdoor living skills class and more!
Camp WoodmontA smaller-sized traditional summer camp with extremely close owner supervision. Camp owner Jane Bennett, along with her two children, camp directors Tyran Bennett and Alyson Bennett Gondek are hands-on camp directors with extensive qualifications (see below).
All counseling staff are college students and undergo extensive interviews, background checks and on-site director-led training including five days of climbing and high ropes training led by nationally known trainers, a four-day American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification class led by camp director and Red Cross instructor Tyran Bennett; and Archery certification. Both directors are certified horseback riding instructors and we also send staff to a horseback safety clinic. We top off all this specialty training with a full week of camp policy and activities training immediately prior to camp start.
Our family-type atmosphere means we can get to know every camper; it gives younger campers a feeling of reassurance and belonging and older campers a chance to grow and contribute in a community of support. Our traditional program includes extensive arts/crafts and performing arts as well as sports, aquatics, horseback riding, high adventure and much more.
Easter Seals Camp ASCCA means fun for the 7,500+ visitors who spend time at the facility each year. Campers who have disabilities ranging from Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Paraplegia, and Quadriplegia to Downs Syndrome, Autism, Mild, Moderate and Profound Mental Disabilities enjoy unique camping experiences at Camp ASCCA.
Activity areas include Aquatic (water skiing, tubing, pontoon boating, swimming, and flat water canoeing), Outdoor Adventure (climbing tower, zip line and low ropes course), and Outdoor Education (wildlife and farm animal studies, horseback riding, fishing, archery, riflery, arts and crafts, along with a variety of sports).
Camp Skyline RanchCamp Skyline... Where lifelong friendships begin! Enriching young girls in God, relationships, and self. Since 1947, Camp Skyline has been a home for generations of campers. Skyline offers one and two week sessions where campers make new friends, honor old traditions, and strengthen their faith. Since there is a 1:5 counselor to camper ratio, your daughter is assured individual attention and guidance. Our beautiful, modern facilities are equipped with restrooms and showers in every cabin.
Camp Cosby YMCASince 1922, YMCA Camp Cosby has set the standard of excellence in quality overnight camping in the Southeast. Located only one hour from Birmingham and two hours from Atlanta, boys and girls ages 6-16 have the opportunity to grow, learn, and challenge themselves during week long sessions. Camp staff provide a friendly, safe, diverse, and most of all fun community that includes a mix of cabin life and traditional camp activities. As part of our mission, all campers have the opportunity to experience every activity at Camp Cosby for one low tuition cost.
Our sessions include over 20 activities such as horseback riding, mini bikes, archery, tubing, wake boarding, aqua jump, water sports, the blob, Alpine tower, water skiing, Iceberg and specialty camps. Camp Cosby also offer Expedition adventure trips (ages 11-15) kayaking, canoeing, caving, rock climbing, and bouldering in central and north Alabama. Camp WinnataskaCamp Winnataska, established in 1918, offers "Christian Camping at its Best". Summer camp begins in June for boys and girls ages 6-15 for six, one week sessions with scheduled mini-camps for the younger campers ages 6-8. Camps are all girls or coed. Daily activities include swimming, canoes, horseback riding, recreation, nature study, outdoors, and low ropes course. Night activities include Indian Night, Country Night, "Mission Impossible", and the Pageant of the Holy Grail.
Other camps included in our summer schedule are: Young Teen Asthma Camp and Friends for Life, a camp for special needs campers of all ages. This is just the calendar for the summer but we are open year round for hiking, outings and other events for schools, churches, corporations and families. Camp Winnataska, the second oldest continuous running camp for boys and girls in America, is 20 minutes east of Birmingham.
