Since 1935, a summer camp for Boys and Girls, ages 5-14 which offers a farm, wilderness and traditional program that nurtures the child while fostering a connection with the land and the simple joys of childhood. The strength of Gwynn Valley is its nurturing environment in a child centered world where each camper will learn and grow under the guideance of a mature and caring staff. We are committed to each individual becoming a vital part of the community. Simplicity, acceptance, a non-competitive program, and an appreciation of the natural world are our core values. We maintain a camper/staff ratio of 3:1. Our residential camp offers sessions of 1, 2, and 3 weeks in length. We grow 70% of our food on our farm and operate an 1890's Grist Mill as an extension of that program. We also have a small Day Camp for children K-4th grade.

Wellspring New York
Residential Girls' Fitness and Weight Loss Camp
Wellspring New York is the only weight loss program exclusively for young women, between the ages of 11-24. At Wellspring New York, you'll make lifelong friends with young women your own age, at a summer weight loss program that will change your life. Wellspring New York offers a 3 week, 6 week or 9 week program.
Because you'll be losing weight alongside young women just like you, you'll find the environment extremely safe and supportive. The young women of Wellspring New York are divided into the separate programs of Lower Camp, Middle Camp, and Upper Camp (18 and older). Wellspring New York utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy in individual and group sessions to maximize weight loss and long-term behavioral change. The cognitive behavioral therapy continues after camp ends through a three-month after-care weight loss program.

Join us for an Adventure Camp experience like no other! Cheerio Adventures specializes in camp sessions from 3 days up to 14 days of unforgettable adventures. We are a Christian based adventure camp located in the mountains of SW Virginia along the New River. The camp is for boys and girls ages 10-17. All groups consist of 8-12 participants, to maximize the adventure experience and promote strong and long lasting friendships. Our focus on helping young people learn more about themselves, strengthen self-confidence, leadership, teamwork skills, is accomplished while challenging them in a safe and fun Christian setting. All equipment is provided.

When you sign up for our traditional sleep away camp, you get to make your own schedule and choose the activities you like most! Our great activities include windsurfing/sailing, archery, arts & crafts, canoeing, rock climbing, dance, drama, in-line skating, kayaking, high and low-ropes courses, snorkeling, street hockey, swimming, voice, guitar, and of course tons of other sports options. We also have a horseback riding camp and other specialty camps for tennis, fine arts, sailing/windsurfing. Some of these specialty camps are only for boys and others are only for girls. Alta Mons Outdoor and Retreat Ministry is located in scenic southwest Virginia, is a ministry of the Roanoke District of the United Methodist Church. The 850-acre mountain and valley historic site was formerly a healing springs retreat known as Crockett Springs. Alta Mons is now a modern camp and retreat center offering a wide variety of programs and year round facility options. We have accomodations for 200+ in the summer and 85+ in the winter. Burgundy Center for Wildlife Studies is located in Cooper's Cove, a secluded 500 acre sanctuary in the Appalachian Mountains. It is west of Capon Bridge, West Virginia. This beautiful remote valley is a 2-1/2 hour drive from Washington D.C.

Bluestone offers four one week camping sessions in June and July. Our Resident Program will accomodate youth entering 3rd through 10th Grade, and our Trip Camps are for high school youth entering 10th through 12th Grades.
Our Summer Camping Program is based on a small group philosophy, which consists of one female and one male counselor to a group of around 10-12 kids. A week at Bluestone will provide campers with excellent opportunities for spiritual and personal growth, for meeting new friends, learning new skills, and challenging themselves.
In addition to daily arts and crafts, swim time and song time, Resident Campers have a daily bible study based on the theme of the summer. Hikes, creek walks, canoeing, sleeping out under the stars, nightly vespers, cookouts and s'mores are just some of the many other things to look forward to at Bluestone! Trip Campers can look forward as well to whitewater canoeing and rafting experiences, as well as other adventure activities depending upon which week they attend.
